DON’T lose your right to vote – that’s the message from a council.

All households across Havant will shortly be receiving a Register of Electors Canvass Form.

Usually the canvass starts in August but because there are elections for the new Police Commissioner in November this year, the government has brought forward the publication of the Electoral Register from December to October.

It means that forms must be completed and returned as soon as possible.

If there are no changes in your household you can register by telephone or online. Details of how to do this will be explained on the canvass form.

If you do not register you and other people within your household risk being removed from the Electoral Register.

Not only would you lose your right to vote, but you may also have difficulty opening a bank account or obtaining credit if your name does not appear on the Register of Electors.

For further details or help completing the form contact Havant Borough Council’s Electoral Services on (023) 9244 6225/6.
