Mayor of Havant offers financial help to charities and sporting stars
FUTURE Olympians and Paralympians are being offered the chance to apply for small grants to help them achieve their potential.
Councillor Ken Smith, the Mayor of Havant, is also encouraging charitable organisations to apply for cash to help them with their work in the borough.
Cllr Smith said: ‘It will give me great pleasure to assist local charities and sports people so please don’t hesitate to submit applications for consideration.’
Last year the fund supported 35 local charitable organisations and two young Olympians in the borough under former Mayor, Councillor Yvonne Weeks.
The mayor also supports Dorothy’s Dream, The Rowans Hospice At Home Appeal, and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
Application forms can be requested by calling (023) 9244 6152 or by emailing Anne.Thurlow@havant.gov.uk
The closing date for applications is April 5 and successful applicants will be informed during the summer.
