NO HOMES before infrastructure – that is the rallying cry from a Ukip prospective parliamentary candidate.

Gosport’s PPC Chris Wood said yesterday that infrastructure must be in place before houses are built in Fareham and Gosport.

Cllr Wood, who represents Crofton on Hampshire County Council, said: ‘There is a need to properly devolve planning legislation to councils, fund infrastructure projects early and ensure that houses are only built if jobs are already available.

‘It isn’t unreasonable for taxpayers to expect a fourth lane on the M27, for the Stubbington bypass to be built, for the A32 nightmare to end and for there to be regular, affordable, buses.’
