PARLIAMENT’S newest addition, Eastleigh MP Mike Thornton, has visited Fareham to show support for two Lib Dem councillors.

Fareham East ward councillor Paul Whittle and Portchester East ward councillor David Norris are campaigning to stop Hampshire County Council wasting money. They believe the county council is wasting taxpayers’ money on vanity projects while neglecting basic services.

Cllr Whittle said: ‘In these tough times we know that every penny counts. We don’t need pet projects while our basic services are being lost.

‘Hampshire County Council is out of touch and it is time they started listening to the people of Fareham.’

Cllr Norris said: ‘We don’t want to watch their meetings online, we just want them to fix the roads. We are listening to the people of Fareham and the message is loud and clear.’
