LORD Mayor of Portsmouth Cllr Frank Jonas met residents at the unveiling of new housing development.

Copnor Green, a flagship scheme from firm Radian, features six houses and eight apartments built on the old bowling green in Tangier Road, Copnor.

The homes provide affordable rented accommodation to people allocated from the Portsmouth City Council housing waiting list.

Cllr Jonas said: ‘We are delighted that this former disused council site in Tangier Road has been developed by Radian.

‘Residents who live in these homes will be able to enjoy reduced energy costs while also knowing that they are making a difference to the environment.

‘I am pleased to meet the new occupants, who are overwhelmed with the prospect of moving into such wonderful homes with such excellent build quality.’
