A COUNCIL is calling for people to nominate inspirational youngsters and adults for their Citizen of Honour awards.

Fareham Borough Council is looking for nominations for young people and adults for the Citizen of Honour and Young Citizen of the Year Awards 2015.

There are three different categories including Young Citizen of the Year, for children aged four up to 11, Young Citizen of the Year, for youngsters aged between 12 and 17 and finally Citizen of Honour for adults.

Children can be nominated for Young Citizen of the Year by showing outstanding bravery, carrying out regular selfless acts or adapting to a disability.

Young Citizen of the Year and Citizen of Honour are for someone who gives a voluntary service to the community.

Leader of the council, Councillor Sean Woodward, said: ‘These awards are the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate the unsung heroes of the borough.’
