PORTSMOUTH North MP Penny Mordaunt paid a visit to the Pompey Study Centre at Fratton Park, to catch up with youngsters at work.
And it turned out to be a return visit for the Tory MP, as the group she met had visited her in Parliament just a week before.
She said: ‘I hadn’t known it would be the same group, but it was great to see them all at work. They had visited to talk to me about what they wanted for the future of their city, so it was lovely to see them working on projects of their own here.’
Ms Mordaunt praised the work of the centre, and especially the Pompey Stars scheme.
She said: ‘The scheme is excellent, but unfortunately it’s likely to lose funding from Portsmouth City Council, so we’re looking at how it can stay in operation. It delivers excellent results for young people across the city and they love it because of its connections to the club.’
