PLANS for an equestrian facility near Horndean have been welcomed by residents.
The South Downs National Park Authority is considering a plan for an equestrian barn on land east of New Barn Farm Lane, Blendworth.
The four-acre site is currently used for paddocks for horse grazing.
The barn would include four stables, a tack room and a storage area for straw.
Plans for a stable block were refused by the authority in June over concerns the building would not be in keeping with the agricultural landscape.
But residents have supported the new plans.
In a submission to the authority, Robert said: ‘The barn proposed in this application is in keeping with the surrounding area, as barns of this type (and substantially larger) are commonplace within a countryside setting such as this.’
Nearby resident David Jones said: ‘What a lovely development this would be.’
A final decision will be made by the authority.
