THE leader of Portsmouth’s Labour group has riled political opponents on Twitter after posting a picture of himself enjoying a glass of Prosecco – in response to calls for him to quit the party.

Councillor John Ferrett caused an outcry after saying he would rather vote Tory than back members of far left wing movement Momentum having influence over Labour policy.

Critics said they would report Cllr Ferrett to the party for his comments and demanded he quit. But in response he put up this picture with the caption; ‘My reaction to being reported to the Labour Party by the cultists.’
