THE MP for Portsmouth South has raised his concerns over the situation in Gaza and has called for stronger action to bring an end to the suffering.
Mike Hancock has spoken to the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary and the President of the Council of Europe about the conflict.
Since it began, the number of Palestinians who have been killed is almost 1,800.
Mr Hancock said: ‘I have received a huge number of emails and calls from constituents who are appalled by the continued violence in the area, and the disproportionate attacks in Gaza.
‘Having met a number of constituents over the weekend, I know how strong the sense of feeling is among people in Portsmouth about the humanitarian situation as a result of the violence.
‘I have called on the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary to ensure that the British people’s concern over the ongoing conflict is acted upon, and I am supporting Oxfam’s call to end the collective punishment of Palestinian civilians and the blockade of Gaza.’
