CAROLINE Dinenage has invited David Cameron to Gosport to see the work of an adult learning charity.

The Gosport MP spoke during Prime Minister’s Question Time and praised the work of Read and Grow, which is promoting literacy in the borough.

She said: ‘They are having a massive success with adult literacy, so I asked the prime minister to come down and see the effect it is having.’

Mr Cameron said: ‘It’s a tragedy there’s too many adults in our country that do not have proper literacy skills and I welcome the scheme.

‘But we’ve got to do better in our schools in the first place to make sure no child gets left behind.’
