COUNCILLORS will decide upon the layout of new homes being built in Portsmouth.

Plans for 23 new houses in Land adjacent to Tipner Lane and Range Green, in Tipner, Portsmouth, will be discussed at the council’s planning meeting on Wednesday.

Five homes are also earmarked on land next to the former Greyhound Stadium And Target Road, which is in the same area.

Members will consider how they’re accessed and positioned.

In a report, the council says the regeneration of land at Tipner is one of its long-standing aims. While the site has been identified for development in previous plans the past uses of the site have left the site heavily contaminated.

The vision is to; ‘revitalise the Tipner area transforming it from an under used, derelict site to a thriving community creating a new gateway for the city.’

The meeting will be held at Portsmouth Guildhall from 2pm.
