FORTY new apartments will be built at a retirement housing site.

The development was approved by Fareham Borough Council.

Currently there are 28 one-bedroom flats at the sheltered accommodation site, Collingwood House on Gibraltar Close, Fareham.

The council accepted the lowest tender for the redevelopment, which was awarded to the Leadbitter Group to undertake the works.
