THE Mayor of Havant will be joining people for a four-mile walk along Hayling seafront to raise money for charity.

Councillor Ken Smith and his wife Hazel are asking people to get their boots on and join them for a spring walk on Sunday at 10.30am.

The fundraising event will start and finish at the old coastguard station, opposite the Seafront estate, Eastoke.

All money raised will benefit the Mayor’s chosen charities – the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Dorothy’s Dream, The Rowans Hospice at Home Appeal – along with other charitable causes in the borough.

Cllr Smith said: ‘This walk is a great opportunity to put a spring in your step and make a real difference to the local community by raising money to benefit the Air Ambulance and Dorothy’s Dream.

‘The walk is also a social occasion to meet people and is a great day out for the family. Hazel and I look forward to seeing you there.’
