ASPIRING tennis stars can take part in free skills and taster sessions in Portsmouth.

As Wimbledon is broadcast on Guildhall Square’s Big Screen next week, coaches from Portsmouth Indoor Tennis centre will be helping people get involved in the sport.

The sessions take place from 12pm-3pm Monday to Friday and 1pm-4pm at the weekend, from Monday until July 3.

Portsmouth City Council’s cultural development officer Craig Willcock said: ‘It will be ace. The Big Screen will show full coverage of the matches too, so if you’d prefer to just watch, grab your strawberries and cream, bring a chair or cushion and enjoy the game as if you were there.’

Daily coverage of Wimbledon is shown on the Big Screen from 12pm to 8pm. Coverage is subject to programming and may be changed.
