DELICIOUS locally sourced food and drink will be on sale at a new cafe – in a town hall.

The public and staff can now buy reasonably priced bites to eat at Havant Borough Council’s Public Service Plaza atrium.

It is run by Wise Catering, a Hampshire based firm using locally, directly employed staff.

Regular visitors can take advantage of the loyalty card scheme which offers the tenth drink free when you buy nine.

It is hoped the cafe will create a friendlier and more inviting atmosphere at the Plaza. There will be a range of speciality teas and coffees available.

Councillor Jackie Branson said: ‘We had a lot of interest in the business opportunity and I think we have chosen the best company for the job. The council will work closely with the Plaza Café to support the venture and make it as successful as possible.’

The café is open from 8.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday and some evenings for meetings and events.
