THE leader of the opposition party in Portsmouth has called for an investigation into the traffic chaos.

Councillor Donna Jones, leader of the conservatives, said she wants to find out what happened.

She said: ‘I want the council officers to have a meeting about why it happened and the reassurances that it won’t happen again. There is a lot of work going on with Tipner. There are going to be roadworks that will go on for several months.

‘A lot of people will probably be put off from coming down to Southsea on a Saturday afternoon.’
