Tributes paid to Peterfield councillor

A COUNCILLOR has paid tribute to a politician who died.

As reported, John West, who represented Petersfield Butser at Hampshire County Council and Petersfield at East Hampshire District Council, died on January 1.

Marge Harvey, councillor for Rowlands Castle, paid tribute to him.

She said: ‘He was very hard-working and will be sorely missed.’

He leaves behind his wife Bridget, a son and daughter, and grandchildren.

Leader of the council Cllr Roy Perry said he ‘worked hard, with loyalty and dignity’.

‘We express our deepest sympathy and condolences to his wife Bridget and his family at this very sad time,’ he added.
