GRANTS are available to community projects.
Every East Hampshire District Council member has been given £3,000 each to donate to schemes that are of benefit to their wards.
Council leader, Councillor Ferris Cowper, said: ‘Few people have a better understanding of a community than the councillor who serves it. This scheme gives councillors the means to help the projects that will provide the greatest benefit to their constituents.’
To qualify for the grants – of between £250 and £1,000 – the schemes must provide environmental benefits, healthy activities, support for disadvantaged people, economic development or community engagement. To apply, groups must contact their local councillor.
