A CONSERVATIVE has won an election in Petersfield.

James Deane won the poll for a place on Petersfield Town Council and is now the councillor for Petersfield Rother Ward.

There was a 23.43 per cent turnout, with Mr Deane polling 239 votes and Peter Charles Dimond, an independent candidate, polling 200 votes.
