Work under way at Wickham tennis club
WORK has begun to renovate a tennis club.
The Wickham Community Tennis Club will open this April after work is carried out to renovate it into a fully-fledged club with two new floodlit courts.
The Lawn Tennis Association and the Parish Council provided over £110,000 in grants for the work.
A total of 140 people have already signed up to join the club when it opens.
Club treasurer Adrian Keen said: ‘We are absolutely delighted with how things are progressing.
‘We are determined to make this club the best-value community club in Hampshire and to offer the most affordable and best structured coaching programme available to the public.’
There is a club open day on Saturday, March 31 at 9am.

Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 06:07 AMThank you for running this story ! This is a brand new facility and we have a lot of people to thank to reach this position. Primarily the LTA and Wickham Parish Council who generously supported the vision of the Parish in their efforts to provide additional quality sporting opportunities to the local people. The LTA and Wickham Parish Council are to be commended over their forward thinking !
