POODLES left abandoned with matted coats will appear on television show The Dog Rescuers.

The programme, hosted by Alan Davies, follows the RSPCA on their rescues and the rehabilitation and re-homing of neglected dogs.

One of the nine poodles rescued from the roadside in Winchester and treated at Stubbington Ark in Fareham will feature on the show with new owner Sally Firth.

The episode, on August 2 at 8pm on Channel Five, will show Sally taking Mavis for a full grooming and pampering treatment.
