POP star Peter Andre will play an open-air concert at Fontwell racecourse in West Sussex this summer, it’s been announced.

General manager Phil Bell said he was expecting huge demand for tickets for the concert which will be on the central course with a capacity of around 10,000.

‘We have a race meeting every month apart from July so we wanted to put on a concert.

‘We’ve been trying to find someone for the past couple of years, but we had to get the right person.

‘The reason we have chosen Peter Andre is because he is such a household name. He is immensely popular.

‘When you put on this type of concert, it is always risky.

‘You have got to find an artist who can sell tickets – and we don’t feel there is much risk in putting on Peter Andre.’

The concert represents a major investment for Fontwell, costing more than £100,000 after factoring in his fee, the staging and the marketing.

The concert will be on Saturday, July 2, with gates opening at 5pm and the music starting at 7pm.

Early-bird tickets available until April 1 are £29.95. Go to fontwellpark.co.uk
