AMBULANCES and fire engines will be filling Fareham town centre next month.

And it’s all for a good reason as the popular 999 day returns to the town.

The event returns to Fareham on Saturday, October 20.

It will take place in the town centre from 9.30am through until 4.30pm.

It sees all the emergency services come together to allow the public to learn more about what they do.

Fareham’s open air pedestrian shopping area is expected to be full of operational, new and preserved ambulances, police cars and fire engines.

There will also be coastguard and offshore rescue boats.

The event allows families to view and explore all the vehicles, and it also gives the chance to climb on board and sit in the driving seat.

If you have a preserved emergency vehicle and would like to be involved, please contact town centre manager Patricia Gray, by calling 01329 824474.

Alternatively, email Patricia on pgray@fareham.gov.uk.
