A SKATE park has been given a technicolour face lift.

The popular Hayling Island attraction now has painted murals themed around water.

The artist, Mark Lewis of Art and Soul Traders, worked closely with the young people who use it.

They were taught spray painting techniques and helped come up with the final designs.

Year nine Hayling College pupil, Heather Saunders, said: ‘Helping to repaint the skate park has been great fun and improves the look of the area.’

The 13-year-old, added: ‘I’m really pleased with the outcome.’

The main sponsor of the project was Southern Water. The Blue Lamp Trust, a charitable partnership between Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and local businesses also contributed.
