STAFF from an IT company are showing support for an ex-serviceman who is challenging himself to kayak round Britain.

Fareham company NewNet normally raises money to race a banger car every year. But this year they’ve sold the car and are raising money for Richard Hunt, 43, from Portchester.

Richard, who is ex-military, hopes to raise £20,000 for charity Blesma, which helped him when he had his leg amputated aged 18.

He visited the company, on the Cams Estate to say thanks.

NewNet manager Martyn Turp, 26, said: ‘It’s going to be a huge challenge, all of us here are truly supporting him.’

MD Darren Hilton, 42, said: ‘Finding someone local we can sponsor has made it personal.’
