THE next Community Action Team meeting in Portchester is tonight.

The meeting will take place at Portchester Parish Hall, Assheton Court, off Castle Street, Portchester from 7pm until 8.30pm.

Councillor Nick Walker, chairman of the Portchester Community Action Team, said: ‘At this meeting there will be a presentation and question and answer session on topics and initiatives taking place across the borough.’

Due to ongoing legal proceedings neither councillors or officers will be able to comment on the council’s decision regarding the operation of the new Portchester Community Centre when it opens later in the year.

It is anticipated that there will be a high level of interest in this meeting and there is a capacity of 90 people, for health and safety reasons.

At the end of the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to talk to councillors about issues in their local community.
