FIRST Bus is making changes to several of its routes to minimise delays when the torch relay hits Portsmouth.

As well as the torch relay, they will also be affected by the Southsea Food Festival, which is taking place all weekend.

From the start of service until 6pm, services 5A and 16A to Southsea will follow the usual route to Clarence Pier, then Pier Road to the roundabout. At the roundabout they will take the third exit into Duisburg Way/Clarence Parade to South Parade Pier.

The services 5A and 16A from Southsea will follow the same route in reverse.

From 6pm to 8.30pm, service 5A to Southsea will take the normal route to Museum Road/Kings Road Junction roundabout. At the roundabout, it will take the second exit into Kings Road turn right into Grove Road South turn left into Portland Road then turn left into Osborne Road back on normal route.

Service 5A from Southsea will take the same route in reverse.

On Monday when the torch leaves Fratton Park at 7.30am and heads along Goldsmith Avenue before leaving the city there will be no road closures, but rolling roadblocks will be in force, so bus users are being warned to expect delays
