A CANCER charity has struck it lucky with a generous donation from a Portsmouth casino.
Staff at the Grosvenor Casino in Gunwharf Quays handed over £5,387 to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
They raised the money through quizzes, raffles and a range of sponsored activities such as beard growing.
General manager Paul Brady said having lost his father to cancer a couple of years ago he knew how valuable charities like Marie Curie could be.
‘The care they provide is a great help,’ he said.
‘I want to say a big thank you to all our customers and staff for helping us reach such a fantastic total.’
