FAMILIES are being invited to an annual summer fair in aid of worthy causes.

Visitors will be treated to a bouncy castle and 20 stalls selling bric-a-brac and home-made cakes during the event, which is to be held at St John’s Catholic Cathedral, Landport, on Saturday, June 23.

There will be a raffle with prizes and kids will get to have their face painted.

Organisers are also looking to invite members of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Proceeds will go towards Sue Ryder Care, a national charity which cares for people with life-threatening illnesses.

Money will also go towards the restoration of the cathedral’s bells, which have been in existence since 1880.

The church is looking to get them working again after they fell into disrepair.

It is unknown how much money is needed for the project.

Entry for the event, which is being held between 11am and 2pm, costs 30p. Entry is free for people under 16.
