ROTARY clubs were given £1,200 for helping at a firework display.

The Rotary Clubs of Southsea Castle and Portsmouth and Southsea helped run the car parking at Lakeside during the fireworks at King George V playing field last week.

The groups want to thank people for their patience, generosity and kind words over the course of the evening.

In total they received £1,206, which they will hand over to charity.
