BE aware of other motorists.
That is the message from police officers and charity Brake at an event in Portsmouth to highlight the dangers for cyclists on the road.
With the help of local firm TJ Waste Management, the event shows the blindspots of cars and high-goods vehicles, as casualties for cyclists in the city has risen in the past year.
Sarah-Jane Martin, spokeswoman for Brake, said: ‘The idea for today is to show motorists how to be aware of each other on the road.
‘We are not blaming particular people, but want to highlight to both drivers and cyclists the dangers of turning left at junctions, and in everyday driving.’
