AN ADVENTURER hopes a walk before he goes off to climb Mount Kilimanjaro will see his fundraising soar.

Chris Bullock will walk from Pompey’s Fratton Park to Southampton’s St Mary’s stadium on Sunday, February 26 in a bid to raise the £3,900 he needs to complete the mountain trek in June 2013.

The 28-year-old, of Victoria Road South, Southsea, is set to be joined by 10 others on the trip and others are being encouraged to sign up.

Cash raised from the climb will also go towards UK charity Kick 4 Life, for which Mr Bullock has been a registered volunteer since 2005. The charity uses football to help children in Africa.

Mr Bullock hopes his 23-mile hike between the two rival football clubs will encourage more to sign up or donate sponsorship.

And he is urging others to join him for that too.

Mr Bullock said: ‘It will make such a big difference if people are able to donate towards this cause. It would be great if people could come along for the walk to St Mary’s. I’m planning on having a celebratory drink at the end so there’s something to look forward to.’
