TWO men and a dog were rescued by lifeboat volunteers after their yacht became stuck.

Crew members at RNLI Portsmouth spotted a still 22ft sailing yacht with its sails up, leaning heavily to one side near Langstone Harbour.

Lifeboat Myway was called into action for the first time on Sunday at 10am to rescue the men.

Lifeboat Norma T was also called to help bring the vessel afloat.

Two men and a dog had been on board the yacht and suffered no injuries.

The yacht members continued their trip back to Southsea Marina and the lifeboats were sent back to base.
