A MAN who was found dead on Portsdown Hill has been named by police.

John Oosterwijk, 25, of Grove Road, Drayton, was found at Candy’s Pit, a disused chalk quarry that is now a beauty spot popular with walkers.

The incident happened at about 3pm last Thursday and the wooded area was cordoned off for about an hour. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
