THE park-and-ride service in Portsmouth has buses running later over the summer.

The services, which started on Monday, run every 30 minutes from The Hard Interchange between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

It is being run in conjunction with Gunwharf Quays to enable visitors to make the most of its late shopping times. The services will run until September 2.

Councillor Jim Fleming, Portsmouth City Council’s cabinet member for traffic and transportation, said: ‘Anyone driving into Portsmouth this summer should give park and ride a try. It is an easy, affordable and enjoyable way to travel into Portsmouth.’

Vehicles can park all day at the Portsmouth Park and Ride for £4. Buses run every 10 minutes during the holidays.
