PUNTERS got more than they bargained for when they popped out for a pint and witnessed a duel.
The Eastney Tavern, in Cromwell Road, hosted a short presentation on the art of fencing after one of the regulars urged landlord Chris Moon to promote the sport to his customers.
He said: ‘It was so good we’re thinking of having a pub versus pub match against the Hole in the Wall in Great Southsea Street, Southsea, later on in the year.
‘The main aim was to promote the sport amongst an audience not used to the skills involved.
‘It raised plenty of laughs when two of the regulars challenged each other to a duel.’
