CHRISTMAS may be over, but people have been urged to put their real Christmas trees to good use one last time.

Portsmouth City Council set up collection points so people could recycle them this weekend.

The collection points were set up at Victoria Avenue car park, in Southsea, and Burrfields Road recreation ground car park, in Copnor, yesterday.

Those who missed out on the opportunity to bin their festive trees can take them to Portsmouth Recycling Centre any day of the week between 9am and 2pm.

Recycling is only available for real trees and plastic or any other artificial ones are not accepted.

For further information on how to recycle the trees go to portsmouth.gov.uk/waste/23236.html.
