Fashion designers have taken influences from military uniforms for more than 200 years.

To tie in with the centenary celebrations of the Gallipoli Campaign, the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth will host a series of events documenting this age-old link.

The first is on Monday, when guests are invited to take part in an embroidery workshop.

The class will give visitors the chance to hand embroider a handkerchief with forget-me-nots, the flowers of remembrance and true love.

This free session will start at 2pm.
