WORKSHOPS are taking place throughout half-term at The New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth.

Three workshops will allow children between the ages of six and 11 to create their own performance working with professionals.

The first, called The Fun Of Musical Theatre, takes place on Monday and will be run by professional singing teacher and vocal coach Georgina Rust. Children will go on a journey of creativity using drama, music and movement.

On Tuesday, costume designer Naomi Gibbs will lead Design In A Day. The children will be taken to see the new Boat Project Exhibition at the Aspex Gallery to inspire them to create nautical-themed props and a backdrop.

On Wednesday, professional actor Ben Claybon will teach the children about building a performance.

The workshops take place from 10.30am until 4.30pm.

They cost £15 each, or £30 for all three.
