SCOUTS across the area are preparing for their annual fundraising and awareness week.

Taking place next week, Scout Community Week gives them the opportunity to bond with the community, raise funds for Scouting and promote what they do.

The 62nd Portsmouth Scouts in Cosham will be on Eastney Seafront picking up litter.

Portsmouth Scouts will hold a transport rally in support of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal. At Lakeside, North Harbour, members of the public will be able to view vintage vehicles and take part in bus rides.

Portsmouth North MP Penny Mordaunt said: ‘I’m looking forward to visiting the activities being undertaken by Scout Groups across the city as they help their communities.

‘I wish them the best of luck in their endeavours and hope the sun will be shining.

‘It is great to see so many young people getting involved in projects which are beneficial to their neighbourhoods as well as developing themselves.’
