STAFF at two council offices donated hundreds of gifts to disadvantaged children.

The presents were placed under Christmas trees at
the Havant Borough Council’s Plaza and Southmoor offices.

The presents will be passed onto the Southern Domestic Abuse Service, which runs a refuge offering support and temporary accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse.

Council leader councillor Michael Cheshire said he was delighted at the response to the appeal.

He said: ‘Havant Borough Council staff and elected members have been extremely generous in their donations, which will make such a difference to children this Christmas.

‘It’s really important
for those residents who are going through a difficult time in their lives to know that people are there to help as much as we can and are thinking of them at this time of the year.’

The gifts ranged from toiletries and toys to chocolate.
