Pair of Portsmouth beaches hailed ‘excellent’ by inspectors

Staff and children at a school in Titchfield Common are celebrating topping the league tables with extraordinary Key Stage 2 results.

Every single year six pupil at St Anthony's Catholic Primary attained the expected level four in both English and maths Sats exams - a unique achievement across Havant, Fareham, Gosport and Portsmouth.

Marjorie Dean, headteacher, said: 'A big congratulations needs to go to our children who work hard every day, and to all our staff members who work tirelessly to ensure our children are getting a first rate rigorous but fun education.

'A big thank you also needs to go to parents whose support for the school is invaluable. 'We have a great school which we really can be proud of!'

Only 290 out of about 17,000 schools in the country achieved 100 per cent in combined English and Maths level four and above passes this year, according to figures published yesterday.

St Anthony's also came seventh across Hampshire for its contextual value added (CVA) score, which measures the rate of improvement taking on board social factors.
