THE water quality at all three beaches in the Chichester council area has been classified as excellent.

West Wittering, Bracklesham Bay and East Beach in Selsey have received a Solent Water Quality Award again this year, due to the quality of the water in 2011.

Councillor John Connor, who is in charge of the environment at Chichester District Council, said: ‘We have been working hard with the Environment Agency and Southern Water to make sure our beaches are safe, as well as fun. During the bathing season all EU designated beaches are sampled on a weekly basis to check the quality of the water.’
