A RUPTURED gas switch triggered a small kitchen fire in Purbrook.

Crews from Cosham and Waterlooville were called to Almeda Road at 10.05am.

Firefighters found a cooker on fire caused by ruptured gas turn-off switch, which had ignited a flame.

The cooker and the surrounding wall was partially damaged.

No one was hurt in the incident.
