AN ANIMAL shelter is urging people to donate unwanted Christmas gifts to help the hundreds of animals it rescues throughout the year.

Vanessa Eden, head of fundraising for the Stubbington Ark, said: 'We can always recycle people's unwanted presents. We use them as raffle prizes or to re-sell at our events.

'The money this saves us is used to care for the many animals that cross the threshold of the shelter each year.

'Whether it is a duplicate copy of JLS or other CDs, DVDs, unwanted smellies for the bath, cosmetics or a pair of furry slippers, the fundraising department will be able to use them.'

The shelter in Ranvilles Lane, Stubbington, is open seven days a week, 10am-4pm to receive your gifts. Please mark them for the attention of Vanessa Eden.

If you would like your donation to be acknowledged, please enclose contact details.
