SOUTHSEA’S Pyramids Centre will reopen its swimming pools to the public on Saturday.
The management was forced to close the pools after discovering a leak in January.
However the leak has been fixed and tests have been carried out to ensure the pools are in working order.
Centre managing director Gary Milne said he was ‘very pleased’ to offer the community a place to swim again.
He said: ‘It’s very important to the community.
‘It’s important because it’s the main wet facility in the south of the city and it’s the only fun wet site in Portsmouth.
‘We think somewhere in the region of 5,000 cubic metres of water was lost due to the leak during November and December.’
‘We look forward to seeing swimmers back at the Pyramids and thank the community, particularly our members, for what’s been a difficult time for everyone.’
The pool will be open from 10am on Saturday.
Admission is £5 for adults and £4 for children, or £2.40 with a leisure card.

Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 08:40 PMBoy, does that place look very sorry for itself today outside, if that's what it was like inside I hope it's spruced up a bit. Every kid in town has used that facility at some point or other (myself included and can remember the health and safety horror when it first opened), and who remembers Timmy Mallet promoting the sidewinder flume! So keep it decent for the families who want to make a day of it now. Then while you're there, bring back the Frog on the Front in time for summer - even if the beer isn't £1.50 any more.
