A MOD is set for an epic scooter ride across the UK to raise money for charity.

Martin Reeves will be joined by Quadrophenia star Gary Shail at the start of the ride at Havant train station.

Mr Reeves, a 44-year-old train maintenance worker, said: ‘I will be riding my GT250 Vespa from Havant to Edinburgh. Breast Cancer Care and British Heart Foundation are close to my heart as I have lost many good friends and family to the conditions that they work to prevent.

‘In the New Year I thought to myself that I would like to support people who have suffered the loss of loved ones, and to help make people’s lives with these conditions a little bit more comfortable.’

Mr Reeves, from Havant, contacted Mr Shail through a mutual friend. The actor will wave him off from Havant where he will be collecting donations.

The journey will finish at the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally on August 26.

If you would like to sponsor Mr Reeves contact him via his Facebook page Charity Scooter Ride (solo).
