A CHARITY fete has been postponed due to recent downpours.

Organisers of the summer fete in aid of the Rowans Hospice decided to move the event after heavy rainfall left Purbrook Heath waterlogged and unsuitable.

It will now take place in September, in the hope that weather conditions will be better then.

Ali George, events fundraiser for The Rowans Hospice, said: ‘It would be devastating to have to cancel the fete as everyone looks forward to it and a huge amount of preparation goes into making it a fantastic community event.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the stall holders and entertainers for their patience and understanding.’

The Rowans Hospice Grand Summer Draw will still take place at 3.45pm on July 22, as advertised, but will be held at the hospice.

The fete will take place on September 2 from 12.30pm to 4pm. To buy tickets or for more information call Ali at Rowans Hospice on (023) 9223 7146.
