ORGANISERS of the Titchfield Carnival hope the bad weather forecast over the weekend won’t affect numbers attending.

Rain is expected on the Sunday but Kate Scott, chairman of the Bonfire Boys Society which holds the carnival every year, says there will be plenty of entertainment for visitors to enjoy despite any bad weather.

She also hopes the Great South Run in Portsmouth on the same day won’t overshadow the carnival.

There will be a Scalextric tournament, a static classic car show and number of ‘pumpkin fun’ activities such as bowling and pumpkin painting and carving.

The entertainment will continue into the night with performances from Paddy Kelly and Fareham band, ForceFour as well as the Imperial Chamber Choir singing in the Square.

The two processions of floats are at 3pm and 6.45pm.

There will be then a final pumpkin lighting in Barry’s Meadow at 8.45pm to close the Carnival.
